THE THEORY BEHIND INTELLIGENCE CIRCLES
INTELLIGENCE CIRCLES has been programmed and designed by practicing Complexity Science. The following theoretical models compose a game of Advanced Intelligence aiming to boost Inspiration for Optimization of Self.
During Dramaturgy, Hosts choose whether the players will use a tool of dramatic practice or (if they will) watch an educational movie or documentary. With Dramaturgy we prepare the players to accomplish Catharsis, the purification and purgation of emotions through art, which results in renewal and restoration.
Intelligence Circles have been designed using a movement meditation practice devised by Gabrielle Roth which draws from indigenous and world traditions using tenets of shamanistic, ecstatic, mystical and eastern philosophy (5Rhythms). It also draws from Gestalt therapy, the human potential movement and transpersonal psychology. All of ICs parts have been placed in highly calculated order, so as to create a rhythmic harmony. Fundamental to the practice is the idea that everything is energy that moves in waves, patterns and rhythms.
Intelligence Circles, by using Cybernetician Stafford Beer’s models for decision management (Syntegrity, Viable System Model), are constructing a highly efficient and decentralized system of management centers that helps valuable information and exceptional people stand out and form solutions to any kind of problem.
EDWARD DE BONO
By combining Beer’s protocols with Dr. Edward De Bono’s research on effective parallel thinking processes (6 Thinking Hats), our game helps people be more productive, focused, and mindfully involved. It provides a means for groups to plan thinking processes in a detailed and cohesive way, and in doing so, to think together more effectively.
Anonymous Story-Telling is a very valuable mechanism used by ICs with origins as old as the first Dramaturgy practices of our civilization. PAUL is a persona representing Smart Aesthetics (Awakening and Clarity of Senses). The mechanism of hiding the identity of the speakers, lets people express themselves and their talents in the best way they can, but without the need to promote their personal image, or raise their ego.
PAUL is against violence and represents higher intelligence; someone who acts with a pure heart. Its symbolism has a purpose of showing the power we have inside us, individually, but also collectively, when we act without limiting ourselves by differences we have because of our race, sex, religion, disabilities, etc.
Enneagram is a model for organizing Human Relations through their personality; a formula studied and used for self-development by Pythagoreans, Neo-Platonists, esoteric Judaism, Cabalism, Islamic Sufi traditions, esoteric Christianity, modern psychology and more. With the Enneagram we build communities as collective consciousness systems.
